Holly Hunter was an American actor who was famous for the films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, like an Oscar for the movie Piano. Actresses have a lengthy career of involvement in Broadway, Off-Broadway and other initiatives. The actress is a lover of acting since she started high school. Her debut role in a production in fifth grade was Helen Keller. She became deaf in one ear following a bout of the mumps virus, however she did not let this disability dampen the determination of her to become an actor. In her early years, she studied drama in college before moving to New York City from Pittsburgh so that she could follow her dreams. Hunter had her Broadway debut following an unplanned encounter in the company of Beth Henley, a playwright. They collaborated on Broadway Crimes of the Heart. When she moved to Los Angeles, she began to search for film roles. Her first film role was as an actress who played the leading character Swing Shift. Since then she has appeared in numerous films and television series and movies over a career spanning more than three decades. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and she also received an award called the Women in Film Lucy Award.
